CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY SERVICE CENTER
Working with over 40 other congregations in our area, FCC Houston supports the Christian Community Service Center with our time, talents, and financial contributions to their mission.
The mission of the Christian Community Service Center (CCSC) is to serve the poor, hungry, disabled, and otherwise needy while respecting their religious, ethnic or cultural differences. CCSC was created out of faith, and founded in the belief that we are called to help all God's children heart to heart and hand in hand. Thanks to over 1,700 volunteers, CCSC currently offers services through the following outreach programs: Emergency Services-Central, Emergency Services-Southwest, JobNet, Martha's Way, Jingle Bell Express, Back To School, the Louise J. Moran Vision Care Program and the Sunshine Resale Shop.
Over the course of every year, First Christian Church finds many ways to support the ongoing work and ministry of CCSC.
Ongoing ways you can help CCSC:
Donate any of the following:
canned (meaty) soup
manual can openers
diapers (sizes 3, 4, 5)
hygiene items (shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, individually wrapped toothbrushes)
Clean your closets:
CCSC is in constant need of men's clothing, children's clothing, blankets, coats and jackets, and women's clothing in sizes 16 and larger.
Need a housekeeper? Contact CCSC and hire one of their recent Martha's Way graduates. Martha's way is a program that teaches women to own and operate their own home cleaning business.
Clean your cupboards:
Donate books, never-worn clothing & shoes, furniture, collectibles and housewares to the Sunshine Resale Shop.
